In-Service Training: KRS 15.404 requires peace officers annually to successfully complete 40 hours of in-service training approved by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Courses must be approved prior to attendance for KLEFPF/POPS credit. Exempt from the in-service training requirements are Sheriffs, Coroners, Constables, Jailers, Racing Commission security officers, and the Commissioner of the State Police.
If you have any ideas for upcoming training, or are an instructor willing to provide training to Kentucky Constables, please contact the Association Training Director via email at jrector@kentuckyconstableassociation.org. Training can be planned for upcoming year.
TRAINING HOSTED BY KCA IS FREE TO MEMBERS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. COST FOR TRAINING FOR NON-MEMBERS IS $25 PER PERSON

Wear comfortable clothes (sweats, shorts, BDU's etc.). Since we are going to be working on cuffing, baton, and weapon retention you should bring your duty rig less the firearm.
Instinctive Hand-to-Hand Combat Course emphasizes a "Train Like You Fight" philosophy.
Officers learn to defend themselves against attacks and resistance from offenders and arrestees.
Officers use techniques to control subjects with a minimum of exposure to injury to the subject, but maintaining officer safety as a primary concern.
Retain control of their weapons during a physical altercation with a subject.
Defend themselves and regain control in a ground fighting situation.

Using I-65, travel North to the 102 exit, the sign will state Radcliff & Vine-Grove, it is also called highway 313; go to the 3rd traffic light, turn left onto Highland Avenue, the fire station is about 1 mile on your right.
From Elizabethtown using 31-W (Dixie Highway) traveling North from the court house square, go to the 16th traffic light, turn left onto highway 313, go to the 2nd traffic light and turn left onto Highland Avenue, the fire station is about 1 mile on your right.
From Louisville using Dixie highway; come southbound from Jefferson county. Pass the Fort Knox gold vault then you will come into the Radcliff city limits, go to the 5th traffic light to Vine Street, turn right and go to the 4th traffic light on Vine Street that will become Highland Avenue. At this point & the fire station will be about 1 mile on your right.

Class will be at the
Stringtown Ruritan club building in Lawrenceburg, Ky.
This is a Daycare Center during the week, so leave your weapons in your vehicle
until told when to bring them in.
All weapons must be UNLOADED AT ALL TIMES until at the range and on the firing
line.
Class will be from 9
am till about 3:30 pm with a short lunch break.
After class we will go to a farm located about 1 mile away for the firing range.
Should take an hour or two depending on number of applicants.
(State regulations require minimum 6 hours of class room instruction plus firing range)
Cost will be
$50.00
Eye and ear protection is required. Bring your own. (I will have a very
limited number of ear plugs and glasses)
Bring some kind of cleaning kit for your weapon. (You are required to clean your
weapon after the range)
Regulations require factory loaded ammo, you will need to bring at least 20
rounds.
Bring a safe and functional hand gun, for those that are not that familiar with
shooting, I would recommend a 22 cal.

Go North app .5 miles and make a right onto US 127 business (Harrodsburg Rd)
Go North app 1.5 miles, the Ruritan club building is on the right at the
intersection with Harry Wise Rd.

Directions to the Fort Knox Firing Range:
From Elizabethtown, go pass the Mall then travel North, 13 traffic lights to Knox Blvd. & 31-W (Dixie Highway), turn right, go to the next traffic light, this Knox Blvd & North Wilson Road, turn left, enter Fort Knox at the check point, HAVE YOUR PICTURE ID READY. Then travel north on Wilson Road, 4 traffic lights just pass Ireland Army Hospital, go straight for about another mile, curve to the right and you will see Hines range on the right please park on the gravel only.
From Jefferson/Hardin county, go South on Dixie Highway. Go pass two traffic lights, take the Brandenburg Road entrance to Fort Knox, go to the check point, HAVE YOUR PICTURE ID READY.
